After dismantling Elkins in a record-setting evening and watching Bluefield suffer its first loss of the 2015 high school football season, Bridgeport finds itself once again as the unanimous Class AA top-ranked team in Class AA. The Indians garnered all 30 first place votes in the poll.

Bridgeport has been the top-ranked team all year, but watched Bluefield take away a pair of its first place votes in recent weeks. The Beavers lost to Richlands (Va.) by a 45-30 score and dropped to No. 2 in this week’s poll.

The Indians will face another challenge this week from Keyser. Many believed the two teams would come into the contest Friday at Wayne Jamison Field. However, the Golden Tornado was upset on the road by Hampshire County by a 17-14 score. KHS is at No. 8 this week.

Undefeated Fairmont Senior, a future foe for Bridgeport, moved to 5-0 after a bye week. The Polar Bears were previously ranked No. 4 and are now No. 2. FSHS battles winless and homestanding University this week.

Rounding out the top five this week behind Bridgeport and Fairmont Senior are Tolsia at No. 3, Bluefield at No. 4 and Chapmanville at No. 5. Robert C. Byrd, who also had its bye week Friday, remained at No. 9.

The only other team ranked in the poll locally is South Harrison. The Hawks moved to No. 8 in the Class A rankings with a 5-0 record after toppling Calhoun County 48-13. This week South Harrison visits Webster County.
