Reserved Seating for Potentially Historic BHS Football Season Now Available: Several Dozen Remain

For those wanting a chance to watch the two-time defending Class AA state champion Bridgeport High School football team from the best seats in the house, you may need to act fast. According to BHS Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Matt DeMotto, the reserved seating available for the 2015 season is going fast.

Now, he said, the seats that remain are available for purchase by anyone in the public. And those seats  for what could be a historic run at a third straight title are available on a first come with cash, first reservation given status.

“We’re at the point where the remaining seats are up for grabs. Everyone that had a seat last year and was given first choice, has had more than ample time and notice to claim their seats,” said DeMotto. “It’s now open to anyone.”

To date, DeMotto said 90 seats have been sold. That means 40 seats, including many in the upper half of the reserved red seats, are still open for a donation.

“We have good seats, but I can tell you that they’re going to go quickly based on past experience,” said DeMotto. “If anyone is interested, they need to come down to the school and make the donation for the seat.”

The donation to get the seat is $100 and those paying by check need to make it out to Bridgeport High School. It is for five regular season home games and it does not include the cost of a ticket. The school is open during regular school hours throughout the week.

For those that don’t know, money raised through the seat reservation funds is earmarked. One hundred percent of the dollars goes toward an escrow fund set up for a soon-to-be-needed replacement of the artificial surface at Jamison Field.

“The money will certainly help and this is our fourth year of doing this,” said DeMotto. “We’re approaching $50,000 raised through these seats and it’s going to be helpful as we start working diligently to get the funding needed for the turf replacement.”

Anyone with questions can contact DeMotto at the high school. He can be reached at 304-326-7124. Individuals that have already paid for their reserved seats can stop by the school office to pick up their seat pass.
