Booking of ViaAir Flights from Bridgeport to Charlotte Four Times Weekly at Cheap Fare Now Available

By Jeff Toquinto on September 23, 2016 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

At Wednesday’s Benedum Airport Authority meeting, North Central West Virginia Airport Director Rick Rock announced that the new daily flight service through ViaAir to and from Baltimore would begin Oct. 1. He also announced that for the entire month of October that one-way fares would be one penny plus the cost of taxes.

Rock said the flights could be booked immediately. And individuals have already done just that.

That great news, however, prompted another question by Bridgeport Mayor Robert “Bob” Greer. The new service also includes four weekly flights to and from Bridgeport to Charlotte-Douglas International Airport and Greer wanted to know when those flights would be on line and if they would have the same deal.

According to Rock, the same deal would be in place when Charlotte flights would be able to booked on www.flyviaair.com. Rock said Wednesday it would happen within a week – likely within days.
This afternoon, Rock confirmed that the flights to Charlotte are now available to be booked on ViaAir. As promised, the flights also come at the cost of one penny – plus the cost of local taxes.

Rock sent information showing that a flight out of Bridgeport to Charlotte will cost just pennies over $12. The return flight, Rock said by looking at the Via Web site under its promotional cost, is pennies over $7.

Trips to Charlotte and back come on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Flight costs will return to regular fares to both airports Nov. 1 of this year. Authority President Ron Watson has said those flights will also be “really” cheap.
