There’s a new event coming to the City of Bridgeport this fall. Actually, it’s a new twist in a new location on a previous event that drew locals and visitors from out of the area and even out of state.

On September 29, the first-ever Bands, Bites and Brews events is coming to town. While it does have some new features, it’s a continuation of the previous Soundwaves and IPAs event in Bridgeport.

“Soundwaves was a wonderful event; however, with the new venue and time of year, we decided to change the name and start fresh in the new location,” said Greater Bridgeport Convention & Visitor’s Bureau Executive Director Michelle Duez. “The groundwork that was started with Soundwaves for the event was top notch and we are glad to carry on with an arts and cultural event in Bridgeport.”

The event will switch locations as it will no longer be held at Bridgeport City Park. Instead, the parking lot area of the new GBCVB building situated at Charles Pointe will be the site for the event.

As the name suggests, there will be musical entertainment, food and a choice of beers. Although vendors haven’t been finalized, there will be plenty of food offerings including those featured by many of the region’s food trucks.

Beer, which was a staple draw of the Soundwaves event, is also a part of the program. There will be featured craft beers as well as domestic beers available for purchase from distributors across West Virginia who will be on hand.

As for the entertainment, local artists will join with a Pittsburgh-based group to provide the entertainment. Bridgeport’s Nat Frederick and The Greg Harrison Band will be two of the key performers, while The Commonheart out of Pittsburgh will bring their unique brand of music to the event.

The cost of the event is $20 for general admission if purchased in advance online or $30 at the door. Along with entry to the event, you will receive a 12-ounce souvenir cup and a ticket for two domestic or one craft beer.

Individuals can also purchase VIP tickets for $40 online or $50 at the door. It includes the 12-ounce souvenir cup, four domestic or two craft beer tickets and use of the interior CVB restroom facilities.

For those purchasing VIP tickets, they can enter at 4 p.m.  General admission entry begins at 5 p.m. The event ends at 8:30 p.m.

For those wondering about purchasing additional beer, it comes at a reasonable price. Domestic beer tickets are $15 and will get you five beers, while craft beer tickets are $25 and will also get you five beers. Tickets can be purchased HERE or at the gate.
