Meadowbrook Mall is going to have a new business. And it’s one you can sink your teeth into.

The Meadowbrook Mall’s food court will have a new addition as it was announced by the Cafaro Company – the company that manages the mall - Miskycha (pronounced miss-KEY-kuh) will be opening up by Mid-March.

“It will be located in the former spot occupied by A’s Grill,” said Meadowbrook Mall Property Manager Marcello Lalama. “That area is between T&L Hot Dog and the Subway. It’s always great to get a new restaurant for our customers and our employees to be able to choose from. This one is certainly a different type of concept.”

According to information from Cafaro, Miskycha will be “serving up some of the exotic flavors” of the South American country of Peru. Lalama said this is not a chain restaurant, but will be headed up by a local group.

So what does Miskycha offer?

Joe Bell, the director of corporate communications for the Mall, pointed out in the release that they will offer freshly squeezed juices, such as papaya, strawberry, mango, passion fruit, purple corn and many other varieties. The restaurant will also have pork and roast beef sandwiches, fruit salads and Peruvian appetizers, like empanadas and papa rellena.

“This deal took place fairly quickly,” said Bell. “I was talking to the leasing agent and the local owner is wanting to get this out to the public fast, bringing the fresh flavors of Peru to the area.”

Stay tuned to Connect-Bridgeport for information on when the restaurant officially plans on opening.
