Meadowbrook Mall Announces Addition of National Company ULTA Beauty to Tenant Lineup

Less than a week after officials representing the Meadowbrook Mall confirmed that the relocation of a pair of stores at the retail facility in Bridgeport was setting the stage for a possible new national retail facility, the official confirmation was given.

Joe Bell, the Director of Corporate Communications Cafaro Company – the mall’s parent company that is based out of Ohio – said that the deal has officially been signed to bring in ULTA Beauty. According to its Web site, it is the “largest beauty retailer in the United States and the premier beauty destination for cosmetics, fragrance, skin, hair care products and salon services.”

“It will occupy the 9,100 square feet (that is vacant at the mall),” said Bell.

Plans are that the store will be open this fall.

The vacant space previously consisted of three stores; two of which have relocated. One of the storefronts now vacant previously housed Flash Digital Photography no longer has a presence at the mall. The other two stores are both locally owned and highly popular stores – Xtreme Sports and the WV Fan Zone. Xtreme Sports has been relocated to an area across from Victoria Secret, while the WV Fan Zone has moved to an area near Sear’s. For those that have taken a peek at the vacant space, they would see the relocation signs on the former business sites.

Now, that space will have a business new to Bridgeport, but not new to the beauty industry. ULTA opened its first store 25 years ago. The Web site says it offers more than 20,000 products from more than 500 brands. ULTA also has its own label of products. They will also offer a full-service salon.

“ULTA Beauty is a fast-growing, very popular source for beauty and salon products,” said Bell.

Fast-growing is a fair assessment by Bell. After a quarter of a century, the company has grown from its initial store to one with more than 600 stores in 46 states. You can learn more about the store at their Web site www.ulta.com.

The new store will be situated across from the Hallmark Store and Elder Beerman and beside Auntie Anne’s Pretzels. The stores mentioned above were relocated to help provide the necessary square footage ULTA requires for its retail operations.

Cafaro, which manages retail property across the United States, has ULTA in other locations.
