Multi-Million Dollar Hawthorn Suites on Way to White Oaks Development

Back in May, White Oaks Developer Woody Thrasher said that a major hotel and restaurant were coming to the sprawling development along Interstate 79. Earlier this week, one of those projects was officially confirmed.

Century Equities Inc., which is a privately held real estate investment and development, recently completed the land deal and has confirmed the development of a Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham hotel. It is an extended stay hotel.

“Century Equities is very excited to become part of the Bridgeport-Clarksburg family and we look forward to making the community proud,” said John Aderholt, formerly from Bridgeport and Vice President Real Estate Operations, Century Equities, Inc.

Although an exact price for the project has not been released, Chris Chesebrough, Vice President Hospitality Operations, Century Hospitality LLC, said that this is a multi-million dollar venture. The hotel, he said, will have all the modern conveniences.

The hotel will feature a complimentary hot breakfast buffet, on-site convenience store, wired/wireless internet, business center, fitness center, and a meeting space that can hold up to 50 individuals.  Additionally, an enhanced and expanded rear patio and outdoor lounge area with a pass through fireplace will provide what Century officials describe as a  “home away from home” feel for their guests.

The guest rooms will include studios, extended studios, and one bedroom suites.  Century officials say that all rooms will have plenty of space to work, eat, or relax. Features of the rooms include the following: fully-equipped kitchens with full-size refrigerators, microwave and a dishwasher; 42-46 inch HDTVs; iHome dual charging clock radios; environmentally friendly Mineral Fusion® bath amenities; iron/ironing boards; and a hairdryer.

“It gives us great pleasure to be able to bring quality and affordable lodging accommodations to the Bridgeport community and we look forward to welcoming travelers to the area’s newest hotel,” said Chesebrough.

The Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Bridgeport is scheduled open in 2015. The new business is anticipated to provide more than 30 jobs.

Thrasher is also pleased with the additional jobs. Along with the future arrival of Dominion, Thrasher said thousands of individuals will be working at the development.

“When Dominion opens, there will be a little more than 2,500 people coming to work in White Oaks on a number of different business fronts,” said Thrasher. “I think this speaks volumes to what we’re doing here to create a unique development that enhances Bridgeport, Harrison County, the region and even the state.”

Thrasher is also confident the restaurant deal will be finalized soon.

“We’re still working on that. I feel safe to say it’s going to happen and the area will be excited about the announcement,” said Thrasher.

The Wyndham Hotel Group is the world’s largest hotel company with approximately 7,440 hotels and over 638,300 rooms in 68 countries under 15 hotel brands. Information on the company can be found  at www.wyndhamworldwide.com.
