New Restaurant Opening on Main Street Corridor as La Guadalupana Antojitos Mexicanos is on the Way

A new Bridgeport restaurant will soon be coming to the Main Street corridor, according to Bridgeport Community Development Director Andrea Kerr.

The new restaurant’s name is La Guadalupana Antojitos Mexicanos. The location of the new restaurant is in the former Classic Car Stereo building that was located directly beside the Plant the Seed (formerly Village Emporium) building that also closed.

Classic Car Stereo’s last day, according to the Bridgeport Finance Department, was Dec. 31, 2023. The business site, which was also home to Electronic Land and The Hot Rod Shop, closed after a 20-year run. It opened on April 1, 2003.

Now, 21 years later, a restaurant will be in its place. It has had a “coming soon” sign on the building for months. There was also a building permit issued to Maria Lopez that lists the owner of the property as Jamie Investment LLC. The permit was for a $10,000 kitchen remodel.

That remodel will soon help to feed locals and travelers. Finance Department officials said Lopez hoped to open this month. Kerr said the Mexican restaurant is in a good location for traffic.

“They are on one of the busiest sections in the city,” said Kerr. “We do not know a whole lot about them, but I do know they plan to serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The breakfast component is different from others in the area.”

The business has done occasional updates on their Facebook page. You can likely see their opening date by visiting it and clicking HERE.

Video of the new restaurant on the Facebook page shows plenty of inside seating. The Facebook page says takeout, curbside pickup, and delivery. The address is 1005 West Main Street, Bridgeport. The phone number for the business that is listed, but did not answer, is 681-456-0033.

Lopez did not return a phone call to her number seeking information for this story. The opening date will be added at such time as it is learned.
