Stonewall Resort Presents Third Annual “A Taste of the Spanish Coast”
Weston WV (January 8, 2015) – Taste the food and wine of Spain by making your reservations for Stonewall Resort’s third annual “A Taste of the Spanish Coast” event on February 7th featuring a “tapas” style (small plates) menu accompanied by specially selected Spanish wines.
Richard Ebright, director of operations at Stonewall Resort, said “This is an excellent event for both gourmets and anyone that likes unique and creative foods, as our Stonewall culinary team will once again create a whole host of tapas style treats to be paired with an array of Spanish wines.
Ebright said this special event, which begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7th features a centuries-old Spanish tradition of eating small portions of eclectic foods called Tapas accompanied by both red and white wines. He noted that the tradition of Tapas originated in Spain during the 1600s and continues today as a staple of contemporary Spanish cuisine.
Stonewall’s culinary team will work with Kysela Pere et Fils (a fine wine importing company) to put together an exceptional selection of Spanish wines to accompany this truly special gourmet experience.
Here are just some of the culinary treats on the Tapas menu: Whole Roasted Pig, Grilled Pineapple; Smoked Sweet Onions; Paella Station; Bacon Wrapped Scallops with Salsa Verde; “Patatas Bravas” - Chile Roasted New Potatoes; “Fabada Asturiana” - Asturian Stewed White Beans and Pork; Crispy Frog Legs with Lemon, Garlic and Thyme; Smoked Cod Cakes with Charred Peppers and Olives; Vegetable Empanadas with Green Chili Queso; Albondigas – Spanish Style Meatballs; Queso Blanco and Piquillo Pepper Terrine; Composed Salad of Roasted Artichokes, Grape Tomatoes, and Grilled Scallions; Display of Brined and Cured Olives; Almond Crusted Chevre with Fig Compote; Roasted Pepper Salad with Anchovies and Basil; and Garlicky Roasted Mushrooms with Grilled Bread
Desserts selections will include: Churros con Chocolat; Povlorones Spanish almond cookies; Magdalena Sponge Cakes with Madeira Cream; and Dark Chocolate-Chile Brownies.

The cost is $199 per couple (plus tax and resort fee) and includes one night lodging, dine-around tapas dinner and wine. Two Spanish, acoustic guitarists will perform throughout the event.
