Did you ever wish you could close your garage door while at work? Reduce the heat on your slow cooker while shopping? Well, you can. It’s called the Internet of Things. Join us Thursday, Sept. 22, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing (RCBI) in Bridgeport where you’ll learn how to make your electronics talk to each other. In addition to lunch, the free event will serve up a fun, interactive session so you can learn to connect and control devices. Participants should bring their own laptops, but all other hardware and components will be provided. Presenters will include Losant, experts on the Internet of Things. RCBI is located at 2400 E. Benedum Industrial Drive in Bridgeport. Lunch will be provided. Because seating is limited, participants must register no later than Monday, Sept. 19, by contacting Diana Perdue (dperdue@rcbi.org / 800.469.7224).
