The very first Wreaths Across America ceremony will be held at noon sharp at Bridgeport Cemetery as well over 1,000 holiday wreaths - purchased by community members - will be placed on the graves of U.S. soldiers buried at Bridgeport Cemetery. Included in the military ceremony are the Harrison County Color Guard and the 459th Engineering Company. Following the ceremony at Bridgeport Cemetery, ceremonial wreaths will be placed at the Bridgeport Veterans Memorial, located just off East Main Street near Philadelphia Avenue. The local Wreaths Across America project has been organized by Christa Parker, mother of the late Private First Class Garrett Craig Parker.
