How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Eleven years
 
Where are you originally from? Queens, New York, though she moved to Doddridge County 
 
Are you married? Yes, to Sheriff Robert Matheny.  They were married in June 2006 at Christ Cornerstone Church in Mt. Clare. 
 
Children? Yes, three stepsons – Rob, 25, is a regional safety manager for Sandbox in Morgantown; Joe, 22, is a police officer for Clarksburg Police Department and Josh, 18, is a senior at RCB and Dominick, 9, is in third grade at Simpson Elementary.
 
What is your favorite color? Red and orange
 
Where do you work? Melissa is the office manager at Lamar Advertising.
 
Favorite Bridgeport spot? Hinkle and Deegan Lakes - Melissa enjoys the walking trail with her family.
 
Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport? Blackwater Falls
 
Favorite place outside of WV? New York because it’s always nice to go home.
 
Favorite restaurant? The Aquarium Lounge
 
Best childhood memory? Painting with her Poppie and cooking with her Grandma hold fond memories.
 
Favorite musical group? Heart, it reminds her of her dad.  They listened to Heart’s music together.
 
Pets? None
 
Hobbies? Following her family’s activities, singing
 
Interesting fact about you? She was the youngest person to serve on Bridgeport’s City Council. Melissa is a member of the GFWC Bridgeport Junior Woman's Club and NAILS.
