By Hannah Edwards on October 22, 2017 from City Faces

Please take a minute to meet this week’s City Face, Katie Alvaro, sponsored by Higinbotham & Higinbotham, PLLC.

How long have you lived in Bridgeport?  Moved here in 2014

Where are you originally from?  Born in Parkersburg, WV, but grew up mainly in Morgantown and Clarksburg.

Are you married?  No

Children?   No

What is your favorite color?  Blue

Where do you work? Lumberport Elementary, I teach Preschool Special Needs (Developmental Delay)

Favorite Bridgeport spot?  Deegan and Hinkle Lakes

Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport? Cheat Lake

Favorite place outside of WV? Anywhere there is a Beach! Particularly Florida.

Favorite restaurant? Definitely has to be Minards! I love their steak hoagies.

Best childhood memory? Going to the Italian Heritage Festival with my family, especially the parade on Saturday morning with my
grandmother “Gwinny” the late Virginia Wolfe.

Favorite musical group? Mumford and Sons

Pets?  One beautiful dog named Bella (bay-la), Bae for short. She’s a Whoodle: part Wheaten Terrier and Poodle.

Hobbies?  Golfing, drawing, painting, and fishing.

Interesting fact about you? I received a full scholarship to West Virginia Wesleyan College to play golf. I played all 4 years and was the first Women in WVWC history to win low medalist in a collegiate tournament. (I can also clap with one hand ha!)
