City Faces in Different Places

By Hannah Edwards on May 13, 2018 from City Faces

Please take a moment to check out this week’s City Face, Michael Gruber.

How long have you lived in Bridgeport?  Basically 21 years—my entire life except for 7 years in Morgantown for undergrad and law school.

Where are you originally from?  Bridgeport.

Are you married?  Yes, to Julie Closson. We’ll celebrate our second anniversary this July.

Children? None for us, just nieces and nephews.

What is your favorite color?  Old gold and dark blue.

Where do you work?  I work in financial advising at Northwestern Mutual in Clarksburg.

Favorite Bridgeport spot?  My side of the couch.

Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport?  The Robinson Reading Room at WVU’s Downtown Library.

Favorite place outside of WV?  Kenai Fjords National Park near Seward, Alaska.

Favorite restaurant? Either Gourmet Café or T&L Hotdogs—it’s too close to decide.

Best childhood memory? Long car trips to Florida and Disney World with my family, grandparents, and aunt.

Favorite musical group?  Blink 182. It hasn’t changed since seventh grade.

Pets? None, but my wife wants a puppy as soon as we have enough room.

Hobbies? I like reading, fantasy sports, spending time with my family and friends, and finding good TV shows to binge with my wife.

Interesting fact about you? Pat White and I started working at Northwestern Mutual at the same time, and we shared an office for almost a year until he recently accepted a coaching position at Alcorn State. I think we both had a lot of fun.

Editor's Note:If you or someone you know would like to be featured as a City Face please email Hannah Edwards at hannah@connect-bridgeport.com.
