On the way to church this morning, I told my husband that the Hallmark Mother’s Day commercial had really gotten to me. Set to some pretty emotional music, the ad features a mom and her daughter through the years. In a matter of seconds, that little girl grows into a woman. It reminded me how fast time really does go. Our baby girls are also grown up – and now have baby girls of their own. With one son grown and one zipping through high school, life as a mom is very different than it once was.
When we become moms, we know we won’t always have babies or toddlers. We teach them to grow, to be independent and seek out their life passions. Every chapter of motherhood is a good one. And no matter how old your kids are, they need you.
On this Mother’s Day, I wish you blessings in whatever chapter you are in. Don’t dwell too much on past chapters and don’t be distracted by the chapters to come. The one you are in is always the best.
