Parks & Rec Egg Hunt a Dashing Success
By Julie Perine on March 29, 2013
A large crowd of egg hunters assembled at Bridgeport City Park and were divided into two age groups: Ages 2 and under and ages 3-5. With the sounding of a horn, the kids made a mad dash to gather as many colorful eggs as possible. Some received an extra treat of finding a prized golden egg and traded it in for a bigger candy reward or toy.
It didn’t take long for all the eggs to be grabbed up. The event, which had been postponed twice this week due to inclement weather, was worth the wait as indicated by smiles all around. The Easter Bunny gathered hugs and posed for plenty of photos with the preschoolers who attended for today’s pre-holiday event.
Even after festivities were over, families hung around for playtime at the park.
Facilitating the egg hunt were Parks & Recreation Director Don Burton and Deputy Director Joe Shuttleworth.
