In order to be selected as Mr. or Miss BHS by the faculty, one must possess strong leadership, character, and academic qualities. Although many students fit the description, two individuals stood out--Tyler Sprouse and Miki Glenn.
Tyler is the son of Brad and Jennifer Sprouse. He is also the brother of Derek and Ryan Sprouse.
Tyler lettered four years as a varsity basketball player, where he was honored as a first team All State selectee as a senior. He was also selected to first team All Big Ten and AllCounty as a sophomore, junior, and senior.
Tyler is an active member in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, where he regularly leads meetings and devotions. He also is a member in Student Council, where he was class secretary his freshman year. Selected as a Student of the Month, he also is a member of National Honor Society
In addition to being active in school clubs, Tyler also contributes to the BHS Journalism Department. Tyler is a member Ki-Cu-Wa yearbook staff, where he writes sports stories and designs yearbook layouts. Also, he is a member of the Arrowhead Online staff, where he writes sports stories.
“I am very thankful that the faculty thinks highly enough of me to select me for this recognition. In addition to choosing me for Mr. BHS, I would like to thank my teachers for providing me with an excellent academic opportunity. I couldn’t have enjoyed any academic success without them,” said Sprouse.
Next fall, Tyler will be attending Alderson-Broaddus College, where he will major in biology and play basketball for the Battlers.
Miki Glenn is the daughter of Chris Glenn. She is also the sister of Siobhan.
Miki lettered four years as a varsity girls’ basketball player. She was voted first team All State for three years, where she was the captain her junior and senior year. All four years she played, she was selected to first team All Big Ten and All County, where she was voted Player of the Year three years. In addition to these accolades, Miki was able to guide the Lady Indians to a state championship her senior year, as well as being named the state high school Player of the Year. Miki also played softball her senior year.
In addition to playing basketball, Miki is the co-President of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, where she also leads devotions. An active member of National Honor Society, Miki was voted Student of the Month.
