Bridgeport to Host Home Rule Meeting for Regional City Applicants in August

The City of Bridgeport will be the site of one of five meetings statewide for municipalities looking to be part of the state's "Home Rule" program. A total of 23 cities are looking to earn the status, but the state is only allowing 16 openings.
The meeting in Bridgeport will be held at the Bridgeport Municipal Complex on August 25. Buckhannon, Clarksburg, Shinnston, Fairmont and Morgantown will make presentations at the gathering. Clarksburg City Council member Patsy Trecost is the statewide chairman of the board.
