Harry Green graduated from BHS with the Class of 1943.  He entered the U.S. Marine Corps in August of that year and served in the South Pacific.  He received the Purple Heart in the Battle of Iwo Jima before being discharged from the service in September, 1945.

He attended WVU and graduated from Case Western Reserve in 1949.  By that time, he had already started in the automobile business, learning at his father-in-law's General Motors Dealership in Boone County.  He purchased the Clarksburg Chevrolet Dealership in 1959, moving it to its current location on Old Bridgeport Hill Road in 1964.  The dealership has grown to become the fourth largest in West Virginia.

Mr. Green has served as president of the West Virginia Automobile Association, president of the Central WV Boy Scout Council, president of the Clarksburg Rotary Club and was a founding father and the first president of the Harrison County YMCA.  He has been active in the Harrison County Chamber of Commerce, the United Way, and many other organizations.
