Annual Bridgeport Light Up Night Set for 2026

By Julie Perine on November 04, 2026

"It’s the most wonderful night of the year," that’s what many say about Bridgeport’s Light Up Night, set this year for Thurs., Dec. 3.

All your favorite booths and activities will line Main Street while traffic is closed for evening festivities. Host organization, the Associated Businesses of Bridgeport, is making plans to bring the magic.

“Our goal is to create a memorable event for all of Bridgeport, to create an opportunity for our friends and neighbors to enjoy each other's company, and to usher in the holiday season, said ABB President Doug Marquette. "I'm looking forward to hearing the high school jazz band play, the elementary kids sing, the dance companies dance, and entertainers singing along the route."

Live entertainment will include solo vocalists, the BHS Jazz Band, Choir and Dance Team, among others. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand for visits. The city’s combined elementary school choirs will perform just before the 7 p.m. tree lighting ceremony at the Benedum Civic Center, to be followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

Main Street will be closed from Virginia Avenue to Philadelphia Avenue beginning at 5:15 p.m. and participating ABB member businesses will open at 6 p.m., offering free seasonal refreshments, games/activities, light-up novelties and other prizes – all free of charge.

“Bridgeport businesses appreciate the community’s support received throughout the year, and this is an opportunity to give back and treat them during the holiday season,” said Jaclyn Rominger of the ABB.

Marquette said he would like to offer advance thanks to ABB member businesses and participating non-profits for their time, effort, and treasury to give back to the community.

All Bridgeport businesses that pay B&O taxes to the City of Bridgeport are eligible for membership in the ABB. Annual dues of $95 enable the business to participate in Light Up Night, as well as Summer Kickoff and Scarecrow activities. Access an ABB membership form HERE.

This is the 23rd annual ABB Light Up Night. Stay tuned to Connect-Bridgeport for more details on this year's event, including scheduled entertainment and locations.
