Area First Responder Passes Away; Served 30 Years

An area volunteer fire department is mourning the loss of one of its long-time members, according to a recent post on its Facebook page.
The Brookhaven Volunteer Fire Department reported that a near 30-yer member passes away. Adam Kerns was listed in the post as the member who passed away.
Brookhaven is in Monongalia County.
The post is as follows:
"It is with great sadness to say that today we lost one of our own. Adam Kerns has been an active member with us since 1995. He served as a lieutenant, he also one of our staff officers for many years. Keep the family in your thoughts and prayers."
