Bridgeport Golfers Complete Busy But Successful Stretch

By Michael Minnich on August 27, 2026

Hoping that the rain is finally behind them, the Bridgeport Indians put together a busy stretch of tournaments, individual events and conference matchups over the past week.

It started on Thursday with the Tribe's home opener, a 161-186 win over the Lincoln Cougars.

Alex Randolph led the way with a round of 37, followed closely by Patrick Aucremanne's 38.

Audrey Kerr and Luke Rohrig both posted rounds of 43, while Nate Morrow shot a 46 and Jackson Nicewarner a 48.

The Tribe then placed second by one stroke at the Marion County Invitational, shooting a 233 to be nipped by Winfield (232).

It was an incredibly tight field as Bridgeport finished just in front of Shady Spring (234), University (235), Cabell Midland (236) and Morgantown (237) in the 16-team event.

Randolph finished in a three-way tie with University's Will Biddington and Winfield's Gavin Martin for low medalist honors with a round of 73.

Kerr placed sixth with a 78, while Aucremanne shot a 82 for 24th and Rohrig posted a 91 for 55th place.

Kerr and Kennedy Marsh played in the WVSSAC Girls North Regional event on Monday at Green Hills, with Kerr placing second with an 81 and Marsh shooting a 103, good for 13th place.

Both qualified for the Girls State Invitational on Tuesday, September 8 at The Links at Woodridge.

On Wednesday, Bridgeport was home and tallied 163 strokes to beat Gilmer County (187) and Robert C. Byrd (201).

Randolph was low medalist with a 36, while Rohrig (41) was second, Kerr (42) third and Aucremanne and Anthony Julian (44) tied for fifth.

Dominick Julian (48) placed 10th.

Next is a three-team match against Clay-Battelle and North Marion at Green Hills on Monday at 4 p.m., with all of those three teams then heading to Alpine Lake on Tuesday to battle Preston.
