Bridgeport Police Testing Soon for Full-Time Officers

For those looking for a career, the Bridgeport Police Department may have what you are looking for. The department is currently accepting applications for the position of full-time police officer.
The testing date for those interested is Saturday, July 26. The first of a two-part test is a physical agility test at the Bridgeport High School track beginning at 8 a.m. After that, for those passing the physical portion of the test, there will be a written exam that follows at Bridgeport Middle School at 10 a.m.
Those interested in applying need to be 18 years of age. Candidates also must possess a high school diploma or GED.
The pay for non-certified candidates if hired is $53,880. The certified pay is $56,344. Officers who are hired also receive benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and retirement.
Applications can be picked up at the Bridgeport Municipal Complex located at 515 West Main Street. Questions can be directed at 304-842-8260. The applications need to be in by 2 p.m., Friday, July 25.
