By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on May 10, 2025

FROM THE BRIDGEPORT POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Bridgeport Police are warning residents of a recent scam. An individual posing as a Bridgeport Officer was requesting an individuals’s credit card information over the phone.

Officers from Bridgeport Police Department do not ask for personal credit card information, especially over the phone. The city police want to remind everyone to not provide credit card numbers, bank account numbers, or other similar information with individuals claiming to be Bridgeport Police officers over the phone.
