Bridgeport Youth Football will be hosting its “Indian Bowl” as well as plenty of activities this weekend. Action is this Sunday, Oct. 27, at Wayne Jamison Field.
The Indian Bowl is a special day for the Bridgeport Youth Football Organization as it is the only day of the year that multi-divisional schedules align and all five of the BYF teams play at “home” on Wayne Jamison Field.
The Indian Bowl activities also mark the end of regular season for all the divisions. The older divisions (Midget and PeeWee) will then continue with postseason playoffs, while the youngest division (Mighty Mites) conclude their 2024 season.

With the alignment of all the teams playing on the same day, that also means all the BYF cheer squads are going to be on the sidelines rooting for Bridgeport.
Action begins at 1 p.m. when the BYF Midget Division welcoming number one seed Buckhannon to Bridgeport. The game will have playoff positioning implications.
At 3 p.m. is one of the more highly anticipated youth league matchups. The two Bridgeport PeeWee teams will face off for bragging rights and with postseason rankings and home field advantage on the line.
Bridgeport PeeWee White is currently undefeated at 7-0 and the top seed in Mountaineer Youth Football. Bridgeport PeeWee Red is ranked fourth with only one loss and a record of 6-1.
At 4:30 p.m., or shortly after the games are played, there will be a special presentation with the PeeWee Indian Bowl trophy ceremony; program sponsorship recognitions; and the presentation of the “Humble Chief Awards” to individual players who have demonstrated good
sportsmanship throughout the regular season.
sportsmanship throughout the regular season.
Beginning at 5 p.m., the two Mighty Mite divisions square off against each other for bragging rights and to show off what they have learned so far in their short tenure in the Bridgeport Youth Football program.
Then, at 6 p.m., the Mighty Mite trophy ceremony will be held and there will be team pictures.
Admission is free. Concessions will be available from noon until 6 p.m. Concessions items include locally made Tomaro’s pepperoni rolls, hotdogs, warm pretzels, taco boats, Romano’s famous pickles, candy, various sports drinks, and Coca-Cola products.
