Business Owned by Pair of City Men, Agama Glass, is Acquired by Global Entity HEF Photonics

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on June 06, 2025

Editor's Note: Agama Glass Technolgies was owned by Bridgeport residents, and Salem natives, Johnnie Rominger and Trevor Flanagan. Both were instrumental in getting this deal done and both were on hand at the ceremony. The image is a screenshot from the event that took place Wednesday, June 4. Rominger is on the left, and Flanagan is on the right. The bottom image is the group on hand gathered for the ribbon cutting.

HEF Photonics has officially acquired Agama Glass Technologies, a leader in anti-glare and technical glass processing. The acquisition marks a major expansion and enhances its position in the specialty optics and display glass markets.

Today at 2:00 p.m., a formal ribbon cutting ceremony was held by Harrison County Chamber of Commerce at the Agama Glass facility to celebrate the acquisition. Over 50 attendees gathered to commemorate the milestone, including representatives from U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito and Congressman Riley Moore’s offices. West Virginia State Senator Ben Queen delivered remarks emphasizing the significance of local job creation.

“This acquisition means more opportunities for our citizens right here in Harrison County,” said Senator Queen. “With HEF’s investment, families will be able to live, work, and grow right here at home.”

The acquisition, announced May 9, 2025, marks a significant milestone for both companies. This is an investment of approximately $4million by the company into the city and will create 70 new jobs for residents.

Jean-Noël Maran, General Manager of HEF Photonics North America, noted the acquisition strengthens HEF’s reach and capabilities. “We are pleased to welcome Agama Glass into the HEF family. Together, we will deliver even greater value to customers in high-growth sectors through our combined technologies and expertise.”

The acquisition aligns with HEF Photonics' broader strategy, following its recent acquisition of Telic Company, and positions the group to offer an unmatched suite of design, fabrication, and coating solutions across a wide range of industries.
