City Faces in Different Places

By Michelle Duez on October 09, 2016 from City Faces

Please take a moment to meet this week’s City Face Donnie Tate, sponsored by Higinbotham & Higinbotham, PLLC:

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Donnie has lived in Bridgeport for five years.

Where are you originally from? Donnie grew up on a farm in Gypsy.  He attended Lincoln High School and studied turf grass management at Penn State University.
Are you married? Yes, to Sarah.  Sarah is from Tucker County and is a 1998 Tucker County High School graduate.  She played basketball for Wheeling Jesuit University and earned her degree in marketing.

Children? Ariana, 8, is in third grade at Johnson Elementary.  She enjoys playing soccer and basketball. Tristan, 5, is in kindergarten at Johnson Elementary.  He plays football and wrestles.  Malia, the youngest, is three.

What is your favorite color? Blue

Where do you work? Donnie is a field supervisor for the City of Bridgeport.

Favorite Bridgeport spot? His favorite place is the Bridgeport Recreation Complex.  He is proud of how well the facility is received and how it brings everyone together.  Baseball, softball, football, cross country, soccer and other activities bring people from all over the region to the complex annually.

Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport?  Mountaineer Field is his favorite because he’s a huge Mountaineer fan.  It’s always a special trip each and every time he attends a game.

Favorite place outside of WV? The Outer Banks, specifically Corolla Beach, is a favorite destination for Donnie and his family.  They find it to be a nice place to get away and relax.

Favorite restaurant? Gourmet Café and Outback are his two favorite places to eat in Bridgeport.

Best childhood memory? His dad took him to see the Mountaineers play Virginia Tech at Mountaineer Field in 1991.  The Mountaineers lost the game 14-20 but it was a special day spent with his father.

Favorite musical group? Bon Jovi

Pets? A Boston Terrier named Bubba

Hobbies? Golfing and playing with his kids and watching them play their sports

Interesting fact about you? Donnie was asked to help sod the field at Heinz Field.  He now goes twice a year to lend a hand preparing the field.  To read about his experience, click HERE.
