City Faces in Different Places

By Julie Perine on April 26, 2020 from City Faces

Meet this week's City Face, Cynthia Drummond!

Tell me what brought you to Bridgeport ... I grew up in Fairmont but I have lived in Bridgeport since 1997.  My husband Kevin and I moved here when I was 8 months pregnant with our first son Elijah.  We wanted to be closer to his sons (Jacky and Joshua) and parents.

Tell me about your family ... I have 4 sons.  Elijah and Noah Drummond and Jacky and Joshua Drummond (twins from my husbands first marriage) Elijah will graduate next month from WVU with a degree in exercise physiology and hopes to apply to PA school.  He has played football all 4 years.  He is engaged to Hanna Stolzenfels and they are currently planning to be married May of next year.  Noah is a junior business major and also plays football for WVU.  Jacky is married to Whitney Drummond and they have a beautiful daughter Quinn (who by the way is the family favorite lol) and Joshua is also married to Amanda. I have one sister Lisa Bishop who lives in Fairmont with her husband Jason.

And what about pets? We have 2 dogs, Lucy and Storm

Where do you work and what do you do there? I am the Nurse Clinician for the Center for Joint Replacement at WVUMedicine.  I help guide our patients having a hip or knee replacement through their entire process.

What are your favorite hobbies/pasttimes? I guess my favorite past times would be watching our kids play sports, tailgating for WVU football with family and friends and loving on our beautiful granddaughter.  Lol

What is your favorite spot in Bridgeport? I really don’t have a favorite spot in Bridgeport.  I love our entire community and the closeness this community demonstrates no matter what the cause.  This community demonstrates a true love and support for our residents no matter if it is from sports to helping support our residents undergoing medical treatment.

Tell me about some favorite Bridgeport memories ... I have so many favorite memories but I would have to say the 6 state titles in football and baseball that my sons were part of are at the top of the list.  We are a true sports family  lol

What is your favorite spot outside West Virginia? My favorite spot outside of WV would have to be any beach.

What are a few of your favorite things ... food, restaurants, music, etc.?
My favorite things include our Friday night family dinners (which of course have been on hold), spending time with my family and friends.  I have a group of football moms that try to get together once a month for dinner/cocktails and maybe even a night at Hammer and Stain.
I would have to say I don’t really have a favorite restaurant.  We have many favorites in Bridgeport. Mt. State, Oliverios, Mia, Primanti, Brickside to name a few

My favorite color is pink and my favorite artist is Bon Jovi seen him in concert more times than I can count.

Tell me something unique about you; something people might not know ...
Something a lot of people may not know about me is that I am a breast cancer survivor.  I was diagnosed with medullary carcinoma in 2001.  Had multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation.  And I have been cancer free since.
