City Faces in Different Places

By Julie Perine on May 31, 2020 from City Faces

Today's City Face is Ashley (Trippett) Montgomery. Meet her here:

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? If not a lifelong resident, tell me what brought you here?

Almost 35 years – besides college, I’ve lived here my entire life.

Are you married, have kids? Tell me about your family.

Yes, married to Chad Montgomery. We just celebrated our 7th anniversary this month. We have one daughter, Emma, who is almost 2 ½.

What about pets?

Mya - who we rescued when she was about 8 weeks old.. She will be 9 in July.
Where do you work and what do you do there?

I’m finishing my 10th year teaching preschool at Wilsonburg Elementary School.

What are your hobbies/favorite past times?

I enjoy spending time with family and friends which includes cooking and baking for them.

Favorite Bridgeport spot?

My home - especially my back deck enjoying our beautiful weather and watching wildlife with my daughter.

What do you like about Bridgeport … why is this a good place to live?

I love the close knit community that we have in Bridgeport – you tend to know  a lot of people if you’ve lived here for a while. Residents support each other, our schools, our sports, small businesses, etc. I couldn’t imagine raising a family anywhere else.

One – or more – of your favorite memories of something that took place in Bridgeport ...

I have so many memories from high school that it’s hard to pick just one. I met my husband here, built my first house here, and raising my daughter here.

What is your favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport?

My grandparents' cabin on the Buckhannon River.

What about your favorite place outside of WV?

The Outer Banks – it's where I got married and where I love to vacation.

What are some of your favorite things?
Food/restaurant?

I love sushi.

Favorite color?

Blue

Music genre/artist?

Country music

What is your best childhood memory?

Spending time at my grandparents' cabin with family.

Interesting fact about you and/or something you would like to add…

On the morning of September 11, 2001, I walked into my junior history class right after the first plane hit the first tower. I experienced that life changing event in history with one of my favorite high school teachers, Bill Montgomery who just so happens to be my father-in-law now.
