City Faces in Different Places

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on July 25, 2021 from City Faces

This week's City Face is Jordan Hill, human resources director for the City of Bridgeport. Meet him and his family here:

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? If not a lifelong resident, tell me what brought you here.

My family and I moved here from Summersville one year ago for a job opportunity with the City of Bridgeport.

Tell me about your family.

My wife of 7 years, Jennifer, is a native of Moundsville. We have two children, Grayson (5-year-old boy), Eleanor (3-year-old girl), and a baby on the way!

What about pets?

No pets.

Where do you work and what do you do there?

Human Resources for the City of Bridgeport.

What are your hobbies/favorite past times?

In general, I just enjoy spending time with my family.

Favorite Bridgeport spot?

My wife and I enjoy taking our kids to Deegan and Hinkle Lakes for the playground and walks.

What do you like about Bridgeport … why is this a good place to live?

Bridgeport is a progressive city with so much going on. The growth, the friendly people we have met, the outdoor activities, the multiple locations for shopping, and the proximity to bigger areas like Pittsburgh are all among the many reasons we enjoy living here.

One – or more – of your favorite memories of something that took place in Bridgeport ...

While I have not been here long, being involved in The Bridge Sports Complex project will be something I will remember and be proud of forever. I am grateful to be playing a small role in that.

What is your favorite spot outside of Bridgeport?

The beach. No particular one. Put me on a beach and I’m a happy camper.

Food/restaurant?

It is hard to say because there are so many good restaurants in Bridgeport.

Favorite color?

Blue

Music genre/artist?

Depends on the day! I like all kinds of music.

Favorite holiday?

Christmas

TV show/movie?

I don’t really have a favorite.

Interesting fact about you and/or something you would like to add…

I served in the House of Delegates representing much of Nicholas County and a small part of Greenbrier County for over 5 years before relocating to Bridgeport.
