Day, Perine Earn AAA All-Tournament Soccer Honors

The accolades continue for the Bridgeport girls’ soccer team following its recent run to the Class AAA state tournament.
A pair of Indian players were named to the Class AAA All-Tournament team. Senior midfielder and defender Eliza Perine and fellow senior midfielder and defender Maria Day were both chosen.
The girls earned the nod for their efforts in what turned out to be a 6-0 setback to East Fairmont in the Class AAA semifinals. The Bees would win the state championship.
Also making the all-tournament team were East Fairmont’s Annabelle Skidmore, Miley Summers, Caroline Corwin and Lily Larnerd (MVP); Nitro’s Brooklyn Cawley, Layken Gunnoe, and Sophie Lawson; and Greenbrier East’s Ava Workman and Rylee Wickline.
