Fifth Annual Pepperoni Roll 5k Slated for Clarksburg

The Clarksburg Children’s House, a Montessori School located in Glen Elk, will host its 5th Annual Pepperoni Roll 5K on Saturday, September 21 at 9AM. The race begins and ends at 444 W. Pike Street near The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center. Surrounding 
streets will be closed at 8:30AM with vendors and registration located in the Clarksburg Baptist Church parking lot across the street.

In 2019, The Clarksburg Children's House (TCCH) started this family-friendly 5K race through downtown Clarksburg to raise funds for the school and highlight Clarksburg’s unique status of having the most pepperoni roll bakeries in the state.
“This race has become an event our school families and community really look forward to. Last year’s race was a huge success with over 220 registered runners,” said TCCH Fundraising Chair Kaitlin Walker.
“This year, we are thrilled to announce in addition to the 5K, our 1st Kid’s Mini Pepperoni Roll Fun Run! This new run will be a shorter ½ mile course for kids 12 and under immediately following the 5K,” Walker stated. Registration for the Fun Run is required and is $5, with kids receiving a special t-shirt for participating.
With the race beginning at 9AM, the event organizers are inviting the general public to come out and support this year’s racers in the 5K and Fun Run between 8:30AM-11AM.
Administrative Director Dawn Woodburn said, “We hope people come spend their morning with us cheering on runners, enjoying the fresh pepperoni rolls and delicious drinks, all while supporting our school.”
This year’s race will feature food vendors It’s Tarty Time, Tikiz Shaved Ice, and This & That Bakery. Also returning to this year’s event are 
licensed massage therapists on site to provide massages to attendees in exchange for a donation to the school.

There will be no shortage of pepperoni rolls at this year’s race. Race attendees will be able to purchase fresh D’Annunzio’s, Rogers & Mazza, and Rollin’ with my Ronis rolls that morning while supplies last, with proceeds going to the school. Every registered runner will also receive a pepperoni roll in their swag bag, generously made and provided by Almost Heaven Desserts & Coffee. Finally, every winner in their age division will receive a bag of mini pepperoni rolls donated by Tomaro’s Bakery.
Runners can pre-register for the 5K and Kid’s Fun Run races online through RunSignUp.com until 9/19 or on the morning of the race in person. Pre-registration is preferred and 5K registrants will receive a free race T-shirt and custom-made medal by local business Florence Fired Pottery while supplies last. Kids 12 & under are welcome to run or walk the 5K with adults for free, but only registered children will be eligible to win their age group and receive a swag bag. Kid’s Fun Run participants will receive a special Fun Run t-shirt. There is also a virtual 5K race option for those who want to participate, but aren’t local to Clarksburg.
