Four BHS Soccer Players Earn All-Tournament Honors

Along with capturing the Class AAA state championship, the Bridgeport boys soccer team also saw four of its members recognized with all-tournament honors, and one player being named the most valuable player.
Senior Phillip Nguyen earned the MVP honor for the tournament. Nguyen scored the first goal in the 3-1 Class AAA championship victory against No. 1 and previously unbeaten Nitro.
Three other teammates joined Nguyen on the all-tournament team from BHS. Seniors Tucker Pomeroy and Andrew Dumas were selected, as was junior Riel Figueroa, for all-tournament.
The rest of the Class AAA all-tournament team included Nitro’s Bodie Jordan, Kaden Shaffer, and Jackson Pritt; Grafton’s Noah Foley and Bryce Kelly; and Greenbrier East’s Andrew Holt and August Vincent.
