Good Skiing News as Snowshoe Sets Opening Date

There is good news for local, statewide, and national skiers. Snowshoe Mountain in Pocahontas County has announced its opening date for the upcoming winter ski season.
According to a social media post by Snowshoe, the resort will begin the 2023-24 season Saturday, Dec. 1.
The Snowshoe Mountain Facebook page reports that for opening day that they are expecting to run three of their lifts; Ballhooter, Skidder, and Powderidge, with 8-10 ski trails open, as well as a fun build in Progression Park.
Additional trails, according to the post, will be added as "Mother Nature allows."
