Harrison County Composite Mountain Bike Team Celebrates Successful 2026 Season

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on October 20, 2026

The Harrison County Composite (HarCo) Mountain Bike Team has concluded its 2026 season, celebrating outstanding race performances, community service achievements, and continued growth among its student-athletes.

The team extends its appreciation to Bridgeport and surrounding communities for their ongoing support.

The season concluded at Shred the Summit, held at Summit Bechtel Reserve, where riders battled high winds and rain while earning several impressive finishes.

Olivia McBrayer and Annabelle Closson each captured first place in their respective divisions, while Ryder Burns, Rachel Garrett, and Jenna Nawrocki earned top-five finishes.

Three HarCo high school athletes also finished among the top five in the overall West Virginia Interscholastic Cycling League (WVICL) High School season standings.

Olivia McBrayer earned the JV2 season championship, Kole Nawrocki placed third in JV2, and Rachel Garrett finished fifth in JV3.

Beyond racing, HarCo continued its remarkable commitment to community service, earning the WVICL's Most Teen Trail Corps (TTC) Volunteer Hours Team award for the third consecutive year.

For the second straight year, HarCo athletes also claimed both individual TTC awards.

Elijah Rosier earned the top male volunteer award for the second consecutive year, while Rachel Garrett received the female award, following 2025 winner Julianne Cutlip, who has since graduated and returned as a volunteer coach.

Throughout the season, HarCo riders contributed to trail maintenance, cleanup, and signage improvements at Bridgeport City Park and continued their partnership with Mountaineer Trail Network (MTN) on projects at Watters Smith Memorial State Park.

Several HarCo athletes are also preparing to represent the team at the East Coast Regional competition in Charlottesville, Virginia, extending their racing season beyond West Virginia.

"As the team looks toward 2027, we remain committed to providing an environment where students in grades 6–12 can build confidence, friendships, and leadership skills through mountain biking," said Tristan Rosier, Team Director.

With no tryouts, and no bench, the program welcomes riders of all experience levels.

The Harrison County Composite Mountain Bike Team extends heartfelt thanks to its volunteer coaches, families, sponsors, and community partners whose support continues to make these opportunities possible.
