HempWorks Moves to Main Street

By Julie Perine on November 11, 2023

After three years on Casino Drive in Anmoore, HempWorks has made its way back to Bridgeport. Now located at 142 West Main Street – the former home of My Little Cupcake – the store continues to carry a full line of CBD oils, coffees, and teas, as well as matcha, essential oils, diffusers, incense, and backflow burners.

But also available are windchimes, wooden cutting boards/serve wear and Versa totes – all which come with free engraving – whimsical flowerpots, plants, musical snow globes, bath gift sets, birdseed houses, candles, crystals, and crystal jewelry, and much more.

“I try to carry items that are relaxing or fun to watch while drinking a cup of tea or coffee,” said Owner Mary Frances Smith. “We’ve just added the pinecones that you throw in the fire and they make different colors. My snow globes light up and sparkle and the little gift baskets have all natural Sisal products.”

Smith has brought back cannabis oil Kush candles, an item she hadn’t carried since HempWorks was in the Shoppes of Averil Place on Virginia Avenue.

Even the color scheme, a blend of earthy tones, promotes tranquility. Smith said she is happy to be back in Bridgeport and said before the space became available, she was uncertain about the future of her business.

“I kept my eyes open and in June, I saw where My Little Cupcake was going out of business, so I called Anthony Mancuso,” said Smith of the property owner.

HempWorks first opened in November of 2018 and remained at the Shoppes of Averil Place until the October 2019 fire. She then temporarily moved to East Main Street in the Gregis Insurance Building before moving to Anmoore in November of 2020.

Shoppers can find a variety of unique items for gifts or to enhance their own living space.

“The birdseed houses range from big to little and the birds actually live in there,” Smith said. “We have Plant Pops which grow pizza herbs. You just turn them upside down, stick them in the dirt, water them, and they grow. We have grow-your-own coleus, tomato growing kits, hydroponic herbs that actually grow in the jar and even Christmas light pepper plants, which have been very popular.”

HempWorks is open 10-5 Monday through Friday and 10-4 Saturday. The Harrison County Chamber of Commerce facilitated a ribbon cutting at the new location Thursday, Nov. 8. See photo below. See more images of HempWorks in the gallery below.
