Hodges Announces Signing of 6'10, Four-Star Recruit

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on November 20, 2025

West Virginia University men’s basketball coach Ross Hodge has announced the signing of Aliou Dioum to a grant-in-aid for the 2026-27 season.

Dioum is a 6-foot-10 forward from Dakar, Senegal, and currently attends Bella Vista Prep in Scottsdale, Arizona.

“We are excited to have Aliou joining our program,” Hodge said. “He has a high motor and passion for the game. Aliou has tremendous versatility and has a chance to be an elite defender. He continues to improve and has great upside as his best basketball is ahead of him. Aliou has a passion for his teammates and other people that aligns with what we want here at WVU.”

Last year, Dioum averaged 4.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. He played AAU basketball for Arizona Unity.

Dioum is a 4-star recruit by ESPN and a 3-star recruit by 247 Sports and Rivals. He is listed as a Top 15 center and a Top 100 overall recruit in the 2026 class.
