Indians Turn Up the Defense in 49-26 Victory at Oak Hill; BHS Boys Improve to 12-4 Overall

By Chris Johnson on February 05, 2023

Playing for the first time in nine days, the Bridgeport High School boys basketball team had perhaps its best defensive effort of the season on Saturday in a 49-26 victory at Oak Hill.

The Indians, now 12-4, held the Red Devils to single digit points in all four quarters, taking control of the game with a 21-5 advantage in the second quarter.

Anthony Spatafore had another strong all-around effort to lead the way for the Tribe, finishing with 17 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Tyler Randolph added seven points for the Indians. Ashton Curry and Landon Sanders each had six points. Curry also had seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Phoenix Sickles chipped in with five points. Ben Bifano had four points, while Zach Ayoob and Rowen Michaelis rounded out the scoring with two points apiece.

BHS has won 10 of its last 11 games.

The Indians return to action on Wednesday as they take on Woodrow Wilson in the Par Mar Classic at West Virginia State University in Charleston.
