Lincoln is 2025 Class AA Cheerleading Runner-Up

The early results are in from the state cheerleading championship event at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center and one local team is returning to Harrison County with some hardware.
Congratulations to Lincoln High School. The Cougars earned the runner-up spot in the Class AA cheerleading competition this morning. LHS missed bringing home the title by the slimmest of margins.
Westside earned the title with a judge's score of 89.2. Lincoln finished with a score of 89.1.
The rest of the field, in order of finish, included Logan, Scott, Braxton County, Mingo Central, Doddridge County, and Tyler Consolidated.
The Class A competition is currently taking place. The order of competitors are as follows:
- Clay-Battelle
- Tucker County
- Man
- Mount View
- Wheeling Central
- Tug Valley
- Richwood
- Pendleton County
At 3 p.m., the Class AAAA competition begins. The order of competitors are as follows:
- Spring Mills
- Cabell Midland
- Musselman
- Oak Hill
- Hurricane
- Wheeling Park
- Woodrow Wilson
- Morgantown
The Class AAA performances will start after Class AAAA awards, likely concluding early this evening. The order of competitors are as follows:
- Fairmont Senior
- Robert C. Byrd
- Winfield
- Shady Spring
- Brooke
- Spring Valley
- Ripley
- Bridgeport
