According to WDTV, Delegate Mike DeVault, R-Marion County, resigned from his position in the West Virginia House of Delegates Monday, as the legislative session is set to begin Wednesday.
DeVault represented the 74th district and was first elected in 2022.
In a letter sent to Speaker of the House Roger Hanshaw, DeVault says his decision was not made lightly.
“Serving the constituents of District 74 has been a profound honor, and I am grateful for the trust my community has placed in me over the years,” DeVault said.
DeVault served as vice chair of the House Economic Development Committee and was a member of the Committees on Energy and Manufacturing, Energy and Public Works, Government Organization and Local Governments.
