Meet BHS Senior Face Hannah Grenier

By Julie Perine on May 26, 2020

Today's Bridgeport High School Senior Face is Hannah Grenier. Learn about her here:

Tell me about your involvement at BHS the last four years. (Clubs, sports, etc.; community and/or church involvement too, if you want.)

I wasn’t involved in BHS as much as i wanted to be since I transferred here after my freshman year, it took a lot longer to adjust than expected. At my old school I played softball and i loved cheerleading there. I was a member of BHS key club for a year as well as drug free club for 2 years. I am most proud of my membership into the National Honor Society. I’m not the most athletic person in my world so pride myself on working extremely hard to have good grades.

What is your best high school memory/memories?
Football season is always a special time at Bridgeport and cheering in the Pit is what we look forward to as Seniors. One memory sticks out in my mind from these past 3 years, the 2019 State Title football game. Over the years I’ve made friends on the team and it was amazing seeing that all their hard work was worth it, I cried like a baby.

What are your plans for college? Where do you plan to go and what do you plan to study?
I am attending the University of Alabama, following in my dad’s footsteps, and I am planning on studying with a major in criminology (later law school) and a minor in sports management.

What is your life’s dream? Where do you see yourself 10 or 15 years from now?
I really, really, really want to be a sports agent. On the off chance that doesn’t work out, I want to be a criminal prosecutor, maybe even a district attorney one day.

Did any friends or teachers make a particular impact on you that you will carry with you beyond BHS?
Mrs. Yeater always put a giant smile on my face because of how blatant and practical she was about everything, no matter how ugly the subject and she treated us with respect (even though some students didn’t always deserve it). Mrs. Ramsey, although a hyper and crazy woman, made me laugh every morning while somehow teaching math. Mrs. Lohmann has been there for me when few people were and was always around for a hug or advice or anything I needed.

Do you work? Tell me about your job.

I work for my dad at his office at Invisible Fence Brand of West Virginia and for the past 3 summers I have worked at the pool at the Bridgeport Country Club where I’ve made some great friends.

Tell me some of your favorite things: Music, pastimes, teams, etc.
I love journaling, writing, anything that keeps my mind working. I LOVE college football.  I love spending time with my friends Josie, Alyson, Khyler, Anna and my boyfriend Sully and his adorable puppy Skye. Whether it be a drive to just get coffee or a day at tygart lake, I just love making memories.

What social media platforms do you use? (If you want to include.)
I am on instagram @hannn_greenier
twitter @HGreenier12
and facebook (to check up on my parents and the horrendous pictures they post of me) @https://www.facebook.com/hannah.grenier.391

Tell me your thoughts on the COVID-19 pandemic/school lockdown. How has this impacted you personally during your senior year? What, if anything, have you learned from this?
If anything, this pandemic has showed me what and whatnot to take for granted. The little things don’t matter but take in all you can about your experiences and just life in general. Life is just too short not to.

Tell me a little about your family
My parents have been together since 1997 and moved here when i was 2 when they bought the WV Invisible Fence dealership. I have a little brother who’s going to be a freshman next year and a little sister going into 8th grade, as well as a dog named Tucker who is my mom’s baby. The rest of my family mainly lives in Virginia and we visit as much as we can.
