By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on September 25, 2020

FROM THE HARRISON COUNTY COMMISSION

The Harrison County Courthouse will continue to operate on restricted public access to only emergency essential functions.  Unless cancelled earlier, this restricted access is scheduled to continue until 9 a.m. on Monday, October 5, 2020.  For non-judicial departments & matters, (Assessor – Tax Office – County Clerk - County Commission – Grants – IT – Planning/Permits)   please call the appropriate office before coming to the courthouse.  For scheduled hearings, proceedings, or functions with  judicial departments & matters (Circuit Court – Circuit Clerk – Family Court – Magistrate Court) you may need to verify the status of said activity.  DO NOT ASSUME JUDICIAL FUNCTIONS ARE CANCELLED.

The regular meeting of the Harrison County Commission scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 will continue as planned with very limited in person public access.  Individuals should plan to observe and/or participate in the meeting via Zoom.  No public appointments will be scheduled for this meeting.

Any questions should be directed to the Office of the County Commission at 304-624-8500.

Editor's Note: Administrator Will Parker, who confirmed yesterday the closure was due to the result of a COVID-19 rapid test with a positive result, said the result of the second test was not available. Because of that, the Commission is planning to close the facility for all things other than those listed above. He added that the Commission can reopen the courthouse, if determined prudent, prior to Oct. 5 Click HERE for the story from Thursday on the closure.
