Photos: International Fair at Bridgeport High School

By Julie Perine on November 16, 2021

Cuisine from around the globe and informative displays were the focus of Bridgeport High School's annual International Fair, held Wed., Nov.10. Members of the BHS French and Spanish classes hosted the event, attended by students and family members. After enjoying a buffet of specialty foods ranging from Spanish Paella and Bavarian Cabbage to Greek Baklava and French Macaroons - and everything in between - attendees browsed classrooms where students hosted displays and presentations showcasing various countries, some with which students had direct ties. Some shared their great-grandparents' home lands and others had hosted exchange students or had other experiences with countries they chose to feature. BHS Counselors Kristina Robinson and Jenna Edwards were also on hand offering information on careers associated with foreign language. Students toured the presentation circuit with "passports" on which they recorded information about their experience.

Organizing the event was BHS French teacher Madame Deanna (Perine) Garrett and BHS Spanish teachers Alicia Kidd and Rachel Bugaj. Pictured top is the BHS French Club and below, the BHS Spanish Club. See scenes from the International  Fair below.
