Photos and Video: "Pride Behind the Tribe" BHS Marching Band Prepares for Performance Season

By Julie Perine on August 06, 2019

Based on the score, "Dante's Inferno," the Bridgeport High School Band has begun practice for the 2019 BHS football season field show. Monday was the first day for band camp, which was held at the BHS band room and practice field. About 60 woodwinds and 10 drum line members will comprise this year's "Pride Behind the Tribe" marching band. For the second year, the band is under the direction of Drum Major Paisley Adlington, BHS senior. Band Director is Chris Hayslette with Chris Boadwater assisting.

Band camp will be held daily through Friday, 8 a.m. through 3 p.m. Band members will spend time outdoors doing field maneuvers and indoors perfecting musical selections. The video below was captured during the band's first attempt at playing the piece.

After all the fine tuning and perfecting, a field show performance will be held at Wayne Jamison Field 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9. The public is encouraged to attend to support the marching band and sample this year's field show.
