United Hospital Center Welcomes Three New Board Members

United Hospital Center has gained three new Board of Directors members. Get to know the new board members, Stephen E. McIntire, Debra Herndon, and Randall C. Light by reading their biographies that are listed below.
The first new member is Stephen E. McIntire who is a graduate of Fairmont State University, Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards.
Employed by the Harrison County Emergency Squad, McIntire serves as assistant chief of operations and supervises a staff of 60.
He is also a firefighter first class, squad training officer and paramedic at the Clarksburg Fire Department. Presently, he serves as an EMT basic instructor for RESA VII in Clarksburg.
McIntire is also currently serving as medical examiner for Harrison, Doddridge, Lewis and Taylor counties for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
He has work experience as a flight paramedic with HealthNet Aeromedical and military experience as rank Private First Class and as a Field Medic in the United States Army.
McIntire has received many honors including Harrison County Emergency Services Donnie Flemming Award and the Monongalia County Paramedic of the Year.
He is a member of IAFF Local 89, NREMT and Lion's Club. He resides in Clarksburg with his wife, Melissa, of twenty years. His son Chaz and daughter Samantha attend WVU and his daughter Katlyn attends Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The second new board member is Debra Herndon. She is a lifelong resident of Harrison County and a graduate of from Shinnston High School and Fairmont State College.
She has been the City Manager of Shinnston since November 2005. During this time, she has represented the City in initiatives that include Federal Home Loan Bank’s Blueprint Communities, West Virginia Development Office’s ON TRAC Program and the West Virginia Community Development HUB’s Communities of Achievement Program.
Having achieved certification as a Professional Community and Economic Developer, Herndon also attained certification as an Economic Development Finance Professional. She sits on several boards that include Region VI Planning and Development Council, Harrison County Chamber of Commerce, Harrison County Economic Alliance and the Harrison County Development Authority.
A former science teacher at Emmanuel Christian School and Librarian at Lowe Public Library, Herndon, is married to husband, Richard. They have two grown sons, Christopher and Charles and two granddaughters.
The last new member of the Board of Directors is Randall Light. Light is a member of the Bridgeport office of Steptoe & Johnson.
He focuses his practice in the areas of commercial, natural resources, real estate, and corporate law. Light advises clients about their choices of business entities and the formation, capitalization, operation, and management of their commercial enterprises.
In addition to working with lenders and borrowers in the structuring and collateralization of commercial loans, Light also is a title insurance agent for two national title insurance companies.
He is on the board of directors for the Boy Scouts of America Allohak Council, Harrison County Chamber of Commerce, United Way and Clarksburg Kiwanis.
Light is an individual with many interests including carpentry, wood working, skiing and running.
He resides in Clarksburg with his wife, Carolyn, an art teacher at Lincoln High School. They are the parents of three adult children: Ryan, Craig and Reed.
