Under the direction of business education teacher, Macy Jackson, the Bridgeport High School Business Fair was held Nov. 15.
Students submitted business ideas before a panel of judges, consisting of board members of the Associated Businesses of Bridgeport.
Winners were as follows:
First Place ($250): Brooklyn Randolph, “Bright Minds” a business tutoring program for elementary-age children; Second Place ($150): Alexander Mosses, “Voodoo Gaming,” a video gaming lounge offering gaming tournaments private rooms with gaming systems and refreshments; Third Place ($100): Robey Holler, “Skilled Sitters,” a business offering babysitting services. Honorable Mention was awarded to Fourth Place ($50) winner Landon Sanders, “Sanders Lawn Services,” a business offering mowing services and other lawn care; and Fifth Place ($50) winner Emma Ude, “Princess Parties,” a beauty spa for young girls to receive princess treatment and host themed birthday parties.
The ABB board members were quite impressed with the business plans and are confident that the next generation of small business owners will be successful.
“These are terrific kids with good ideas who put effort into their projects,” said Doug Marquette. “They will be us in 15 years.”
