Wreaths Across America to Hold Ceremony Dec. 13

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on November 20, 2025

Wreaths Across America Team Bridgeport will hold its annual ceremony on Sat., Dec. 13, beginning at noon at Bridgeport Cemetery. Donations are still being accepted to purchase wreaths to be laid on veterans’ graves. To date, enough money has been raised to cover 1,068 veterans’ graves with wreaths. Those who would like to still contribute can drop off donations at Bridgeport Police Department 7:30 a.m. through 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

In addition to private donations, Team Bridgeport raises money through various fundraisers. This year’s Military Banner program in Bridgeport raised $1,200 for the local Wreaths Across America.

The program came to Bridgeport Cemetery in 2016 after it was initiated by Christa Parker who continues to head up the effort.

There will again be special music and the Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Boy Scouts Troop 40. The National Guard soldiers from throughout the state will present wreaths to family members of veterans laid to rest at the cemetery.

Last year, wreaths were placed on 1,675 graves.

Assisting Parker is Tricia Bombardiere. The women are very appreciative of the donations made to Wreaths Across America Team Bridgeport.

Stay up to date with Wreaths Across America Team Bridgeport at its Facebook page HERE.

Editor's Note: Photos by Jonathan Staddon of VizaFRAME Photography were taken during the 2024 event.
