Bridgeport Rotary Club Hosts Annual Wellness Testing at BMS

The Bridgeport Rotary Club is hosting its semiannual Health Awareness Wellness Screening Feb. 15 and 22 at Bridgeport Middle School.
It is necessary to fast from food for 10 hours and abstain from alcohol 24 hours for the blood screenings, which will be performed by PA Automated Services, Inc.
 
Screenings take place 7-10 a.m. with no appointment necessary. All participants will be treated to a free pancake breakfast.
Costs are as follows:
  1. Multiphasic/wellness blood test, including chemistry and lipid profile plus complete blood count is $45.
  2. For $5, test results can be sent directly to individual.
  3. Urine test, detecting blood, infection or sugar: $10
  4. Iron panel, including TIBC and diagnosis of iron deficiency or anemia is $20
  5. Magnesium test (for symptoms such as muscle weakness and cramping) is $10.
  6. Thyroid profile, including TSH, t4 and free t4, is $45.
  7. PSA test (prostate cancer screening) is $30.
  8. C-Reactive protein (which aids in detection of inflammation) is $25.
  9. Vitamin B12 and folate (recommended for extreme fatigue, anemia, memory loss) is $40
  10. Vitamin D 25 OH (which helps diagnose Vitamin D deficiency) is $40
  11. Homocysteine (of which a high level can show risk of heart disease) is $40
  12. HGB A1C (diabetic test) is $25.
  13. Testosterone testing is $25
  14. Hepatitis C (infection caused by virus that attacks liver) is $50
  15. Lymes blood test (prescription from physician required) is $50
 
Specials are as follows:
 
Super Special for Men (tests 1, 7, 8, 11, 13 and 2 (a copy sent directly to individual) is $140.
Super Special for Women (tests 1, 6, 8, 11 and 2 (a copy sent directly to individual) is $140.
Everything Special (every test except 14 and 15 for men and 7, 13, 14 and 15 for women) is $250
Cancer Screening for Women (Tests 1, 2, CA 125 (ovarian screening) ad CA 27.29 (breast screening) is $110.
Fatigue Panel (Tests 1, 4, 6, 9, 10 and 2 (copy sent directly to individual) is $170.
 
Health insurance is accepted only with prescription from doctor. Script must have each test listed specifically and have a valid diagnosis.
