Celebrate the Holiday Season at Robinson Grand with Extreme Illusions and Escapes

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on November 09, 2023

The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center is proud to announce Extreme Illusions and Escapes is bringing “A Touch of Holiday Magic” to downtown Clarksburg on Sunday, Dec. 17 at the historic Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center.

Extreme Illusions & Escapes is a family friendly Las Vegas-style illusion show consisting of large-scale, modern illusions and edge-of-your-seat, dangerous escapes. This production takes the idea of an illusion and escape show to a whole new level as the audience becomes the stars on stage, making for hilarious and memorable moments. Watch members of the audience levitate, get spiked, sawed in half, as well as assist in the daring escapes in a funny way.

“The audience is the driving force of the Extreme Illusions & Escapes experience,” said Jason A Young, the Robinson Grand’s Program Manager. “It’s always different, which makes the magic fresh every show.”

The show features illusionist and escape artist Josh Knotts, who has performed at events across the United States since 2003. With thousands of shows of experience under his belt and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from West Virginia University, Knotts brings excitement and professional experience to the art of magic. In 2016, Knotts earned the prestigious Merlin Award, comparable to the Oscar, Grammy, or Tony award in the art of magic. This highest honor is shared with such magical greats as David Copperfield, Penn & Tellar, Siegfried & Roy, and Criss Angel.

Joining Josh onstage is his beautiful wife Leann Knotts, who has been performing at events across the United States with Extreme Illusions & Escapes since 2009. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Performing and Visual Arts from West Virginia University and is the Director of Extreme Talent Showcase National Talent Competition. She has a lifetime of dance and movement experience, performing and competing in dance since she was young.

“Josh and Lea Knotts are a crowd favorite at every event they perform,” said Young. “They perform over 300 shows annually all over the country, in various types of venues, entertaining audiences of all sizes.”

“A Touch of Holiday Magic” is a stage show mixed with amazing illusions, skillful escapes, audience participation, and exciting music. Certainly not your everyday magic act. Forget everything you think you know and prepare to be amazed by Extreme Illusions & Escapes.

Tickets for “A Touch of Holiday Magic” start at only $12 and went on sale to Friends of the Robinson Grand on Tuesday will be made available to the general public at 10 a.m. on Friday.

All tickets can be purchased online at tickets.therobinsongrand.com or by calling the Robinson Grand ticketing center at (855) 773-6283.
