Plans Shaping up for Candy Land Adventures as Community, Businesses Stepping up to Help

By Julie Perine on September 28, 2022

The plans for Candyland Adventures are shaping up. On Sat., Oct. 15, children will walk the makeshift game board, visiting stations along the way. Businesses or organizations manning the stations will provide treats and activities. The event is geared for kids ages 3-10.

“We are looking forward to the new event and are excited to have local businesses and groups be a part of it,” said Bridgeport Recreation Coordinator Amy Callahan.

The event will be held at The Bridge baseball complex.  Families will enter the main baseball entrance and follow the concrete path down and around the concession building and will exit down the path that leads to the parking lot and cul-de-sac.

Hosts and their respective stations are Della’s Deli - Ice Palace; U.S. Cellular – Cupcake Commons; The Bridge Aquatics – Licorice Lagoons; Bridgeport Public Library – Lollipop Woods; J. Robey Law, PLLC- Peppermint Forest; All Smiles Dental- Gummy Hills; Buffalo Wild Wings (Bridgeport)- Gingerbread House; WIC of Harrison County- Ice Cream Slopes; Rominger Dental- Candy Castle

And City of Bridgeport- Check-In.

Opportunity remains to host the Chocolate Swamp and Peanut Acres. Contact acallahan@bridgeportwv.com if interested.

Set-up will begin Oct. 15 at 9 a.m. and must be completed by 11:45 a.m. The event runs 12-2 p.m. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be moved inside CityNet Center.
